D-Litt row: Governor expresses shock over VC's language

Thiruvananthapuram: In the backdrop of the D-Litt row, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has raised a sharp criticism against the Vice Chancellor of Kerala University for the kind of language he used. Governor said that he was shocked over the way VC spoke o him as it was ‘substandard’.

He questioned the language perfection of the VC. He alleged that VC does not know how to write two lines without error. He pointed out that the VC's language reveals the standard of the higher education system in Kerala. The syndicate did not call a meeting despite the chancellor's request.

He was following the commands of some other person by disobeying me, added the governor.

When asked to honour the President with a D-Litt, the Vice-Chancellor denied it. That was the shock, said the Governor. The VC had to call a syndicate meeting and make a decision but he replied a no at the suggestion of someone else. Governor then called the CM's office but could not talk to the Chief Minister.
