Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged off four new train services in Kerala, adding three Amrit Bharat Express trains and a new passenger service. Together, these trains improve long-distance and regional rail links across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Designed as affordable, non-AC services, they aim to make travel safer, quicker and more accessible, while supporting tourism, trade, education and daily commuting.
Thiruvananthapuram–Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express (16121/16122)
This weekly service connects Kerala’s capital with Tambaram in Tamil Nadu. It runs via Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli and Srirangam.
