Kerala train route changes: 3 trains diverted via Kottayam; check revised stops

Alappuzha: Passengers travelling on three trains through Kerala on September 25 will see changes to their routes and stopping stations as emergency track maintenance is being carried out in the Ernakulam yard.

The Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express (16128), Mangaluru–Thiruvananthapuram Maveli Express (16603) and MGR Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram Central AC Superfast Express (22207) will be operated via Kottayam instead of the Alappuzha route on September 25.

The diversion means several regular stops in central Kerala will be replaced by stations on the Kottayam route.

The Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express, departing Guruvayur on September 25, will not make its usual stops at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha and Haripad.

Instead, the train will stop at Kottayam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla and Changanassery.

The Mangaluru–Thiruvananthapuram Maveli Express, also scheduled to depart on September 25, will similarly be diverted.

Its regular stops at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha and Haripad will be replaced by stops at Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla and Changanassery.

The MGR Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram Central AC Superfast Express (22207) will also operate via Kottayam on September 25.

The train will not stop at Ernakulam Junction and Alappuzha. Passengers will instead have stops at Ernakulam Town, Kottayam and Changanassery.

Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express to terminate at Aluva

There is also a change affecting the Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express (18189).

The train departing Tatanagar Junction on September 24 will have its journey terminated at Aluva, instead of continuing to Ernakulam.

Passengers travelling on these services are advised to check the revised route and stopping stations before beginning their journey.
