Kerala tops BSNL circles with ₹182.63 crore profit for second year in a row

Pathanamthitta: The Kerala circle of telecom giant BSNL has once again emerged as the top performer in the country, posting a record profit of ₹182.63 crore in the 2024–25 financial year.
This marks a significant jump from the ₹90.06 crore profit recorded in the previous fiscal year, reflecting a two-fold increase.
The circle’s revenue also saw a notable rise, climbing from ₹1,859 crore in 2023–24 to ₹1,955 crore in 2024–25, solidifying Kerala’s position as the highest revenue and profit-generating circle among BSNL operations across India.
Odisha ranked second with ₹161 crore in profit, followed by Maharashtra (₹127 crore), Andaman and Nicobar (₹77 crore), Rajasthan (₹36 crore), Haryana (₹29 crore), UP East (₹19 crore), Karnataka (₹15 crore), Uttarakhand (₹12 crore), and Jammu & Kashmir (₹5 crore).
Meanwhile, BSNL recorded a net profit of ₹280 crore in the January–March 2025 quarter, marking the second consecutive quarter of profitability. In the previous quarter (October–December), the company had posted a profit of ₹262 crore.
However, for the full quarter ending March 31, 2024, BSNL had reported a net loss of ₹849 crore. The shift to profit has been largely attributed to the rollout of 4G services across India.
The state-run telecom company is also preparing to launch 5G services. For the financial year 2024–25, BSNL’s operational revenue rose by 7.8% to ₹20,841 crore, while its total income stood at ₹23,427 crore.
