Thiruvananthapuram: With the world observing international anti-drug day on June 26, the Kerala Government has decided to keep the liquor outlets closed on the day.

Hence the State will observe a complete dry day on Wednesday. None of the liquor shops, including beverage outlets, consumerfed liquor stores and premium liquor stores, will function on the day.

The State Government’s move comes as support for the anti-drug campaign to be held on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, long queues were seen in front of liquor stores after a report stated that liquor stores will remain closed on Wedneday in the State.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is marked on June 26 every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse.
The anti-drug day 2024 theme is 'The evidence is clear: invest in prevention'.
