Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express: Huge demand for online booking; 740 tickets sold out in 10 hrs

Thiruvananthapuram: Reports have emerged that there is a huge demand for Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express train tickets, within hours of opening the online booking system.   

The booking was open from Sunday at 8 am and tickets are already sold out, said reports. Executive chair car tickets are not available for the next five days, it is learnt. 

As per reports, 740 tickets were sold out on Sunday for the Vande Bharat train (20633) scheduled to depart from Kasaragod on April 26. According to the reservation data from 8 am till 6 pm the previous day, only 260 tickets were left to be sold out of the total 914 chair car seats.

All 86 tickets in the executive car were also sold out and currently 14 passengers are under waiting list on April 26. Furthermore, ticket sales are rocketing for the Vande Bharat services on April 28, 29, and 30 too. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station on Tuesday.

Vande Bharat train will cover 11 districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod.

Vande Bharat Express is an indigenously manufactured, semi-high speed and self-propelled train set. The train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities, providing passengers with a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience.
