Kerala revises Bakrid holiday to June 7; banks to remain shut in select cities on Friday

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has revised the Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) holiday date. Originally scheduled for Friday, the official state holiday has now been moved to Saturday, June 7, in line with the lunar calendar. 

Meanwhile, banks in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi will remain closed on Friday. On Saturday, banks across the country, except in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram, will be closed for Bakrid.

According to the holiday calendars of the NSE and BSE, the stock markets will remain open on both Friday and Saturday.
