Kerala rain alert: Very heavy downpours and thunderstorms trigger orange warning in 3 districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for various districts in Kerala, forecasting widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the next five days.
Orange (very heavy rainfall) allert issued
The IMD has placed northern districts under an orange alert, predicting isolated very heavy downpours ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm within a 24-hour period.
- June 29: Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod
- June 30: Kannur and Kasaragod
Yellow (isolated heavy rainfall) alert issued
A yellow alert has been sounded for several districts, indicating heavy rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm along with thunderstorms.
- June 29: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad
- June 30: Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad
- July 1: Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod
- July 2: Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod
- July 3: Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod
