Rajendra Arlekar appointed as new Kerala Governor; Arif Khan shifted to Bihar

New Delhi: In a significant gubernatorial reshuffle, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed new Governors across several states. The key change includes the appointment of Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the former Governor of Bihar, as the new Governor of Kerala.
Arif Mohammed Khan, who has served as the Governor of Kerala, has now been appointed as the Governor of Bihar. This change marks a shift in the leadership at Kerala's Raj Bhavan, with Arlekar now tasked with overseeing the state's administration.
In addition, former Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been appointed the governor of strife-torn Manipur, ex-Army chief Vijay Kumar Singh is the new Mizoram governor.
President Murmu has accepted the resignation of Odisha Governor Raghubar Das.
Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as the new Odisha Governor in place of Das, the statement said.
These appointments will take effect from the dates they will assume charge of their respective offices, it added.
