Kerala UDF government assigns ministers to all 14 districts; Full district-wise list released

Kochi: The UDF government led by Chief Minister V D Satheesan has assigned ministers to oversee all 14 districts in Kerala, a move aimed at strengthening coordination between the state government and district administrations and ensuring closer monitoring of development projects and public issues.

The General Administration Department issued the order on May 30, allocating a specific district to each minister. Officials said the arrangement is intended to improve governance, facilitate project reviews and enhance the implementation of government programmes at the district level.

According to official sources, the district-level assignments are meant to ensure closer engagement between ministers and local administrations. The ministers will monitor government schemes, review development activities and help address issues affecting people in their respective districts.

The arrangement is also expected to improve communication between the state government and district authorities, enabling quicker responses to administrative and public concerns.

Ministers are expected to periodically review ongoing projects, assess the progress of welfare schemes and coordinate with district officials on key issues.
