Thiruvananthapuram: From now on, 1 litre of packaged drinking water will be available at ration shops for Rs 10.

The ‘Hilly Aqua’, a brand of packaged drinking water from Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (KIIDC), will be sold through ration shop outlets in the state.

The ration shop owners will receive a profit of Rs 2 per bottle sold. It is learned that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be soon signed in this regard. In 2019, the Civil Supplies Department touted plans to sell packaged drinking water through ration shops.
