Kozhikode: The Kerala Students Union (KSU) has announced its decision to continue protests against the Education Department's refusal to cancel the Christmas half-yearly Plus One Mathematics exam and the Class 10 English exam after reports of a question paper leak.

KSU stated that complaints have already been filed with the Governor and the Vigilance Department, demanding an investigation into the alleged nexus between private tuition centres and officials in the Education Department. The Union called for the cancellation of the exams and the formation of a special investigation team to probe the incident.
“There is collusion between teachers and private tuition centres. This is not the first incident; similar situations have occurred before. The recurrence of such issues is due to the failure to curb the influence of the private tuition centre lobby,” KSU alleged.

KSU demanded that agencies like the Enforcement Directorate investigate the financial transactions and money laundering activities allegedly linked to such institutions. They also called for strict action against those conducting classes at private centres.

The union emphasised the need to prevent such institutions from analysing question papers on the eve of exams. They accused the Education Department of failing to act against these centres due to their sponsorship of departmental events.
