Kerala declares holiday for educational institutions on Friday for Bakrid

Thiruvananthapuram: All educational institutions under Kerala’s Department of Higher Education, including professional colleges, will remain closed on Friday, in observance of Bakrid. The announcement was made by Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice Dr. R. Bindu through her official Facebook page.

In a separate message, Minister for General Education and Labour V. Sivankutty also confirmed via his official Facebook page that all schools from Class 1 to Class 12 will remain closed on the same day.

The clarification comes after an earlier announcement had suggested that the Bakrid holiday would be observed on June 7.
