Kozhikode: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday assured that no one in the state would be evicted under the pretext of Waqf-related matters. He stated that the Union government's Waqf Act amendment aims to deprive minority communities of their rights, creating an impression that minorities are encroaching on properties. The Chief Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the Kozhikode Divisional Board of the Waqf Board.

He noted that widespread campaigns suggesting evictions in the name of Waqf had gained traction. "The state government has made it clear that such evictions will not take place. Furthermore, the constitutional rights of minority communities will remain protected, and no attempt will be made to take them away," he added.
