Natives fume over delay in autopsy of Adivasi man who died of bee attack

Kozhikode: Relatives and natives of the deceased Adivasi man alleged disrespect to the body due to delay in conducting the post-mortem even after two days.
Though the body was taken to Kozhikode medical college, the authorities informed that the surgeon was not available to carry out post-mortem.
Gopalan, a native of Palnada colony at Kenichira, died after being stung by bees on Sunday morning. At first, his body was taken to Sulthan Bathery taluk hospital. But as there was no surgeon, the taluk hospital staff directed to take the body to Kozhikode medical college.
But post-mortem was not carried out at the medical college. The body is kept at the mortuary of the medical college from Sunday. “It’s a dead body. It has begun to decay. We are not ready to take it,” declared the relatives of the deceased, protesting against the medical college.
