Cyclone Ditwah updates: Kerala experiences cool temperature, minimal rain despite warnings

Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Ditwah caused severe damage in Sri Lanka and brought heavy rainfall to Tamil Nadu, but Kerala experienced neither significant rain nor disruption. Instead, the state saw cool daytime and nighttime temperatures under mostly cloudy skies for the past two days. Kannur recorded slightly higher temperatures on Saturday.

Despite warnings issued in anticipation of heavy rain as the cyclone approached from the Bay of Bengal, only light showers occurred in Kerala’s hilly regions.

The cyclone is expected to weaken into a depression by Monday. Meteorological Department Director Neetha M Gopal said there is no chance of significant rainfall in Kerala on Sunday, and the weather is likely to return to normal by the afternoon.
