2 killed after goods lorry overturns in Valanchery

Malappuram: Two people were crushed to death after a goods lorry lost control and overturned at Vattappara near Valanchery here on Tuesday. The deceased are workers of the lorry. The accident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The lorry which carried iron rods from Bengaluru to Kochi met with the accident after the vehicle lost control.

Police and public rushed to the spot for rescue operation. They recovered the bodies of the duo who got trapped under the lorry after hours of long effort.

The spot is identified as an accident-prone area. Hence, there was frequent demand to repair the road. The accident took place on Tuesday amidst the renovation of the road.
