Thiruvananthapuram: The accused in Kattakada Christian College impersonation case, former SFI area secretary A Vishakh and ex-principal Dr G J Shaiju surrendered themselves to the police station.

The case was lodged alleging that Vishakh’s name was submitted to the university instead of A S Anakha, who won the election for University Union Councillor. The charges against them were on counts of forgery, criminal breach of trust and impersonation. Once the incident became controversial, SFI removed Vishakh from his positions.

Dr GJ Shaiju was also removed as principal. The court rejected the anticipatory bail applications of both the accused and directed them to appear before the investigating officers. The surrender ensued as the deadline expired today.
