Train halted in Kannur as students flash red light to film Instagram reels

Kannur: A train was brought to a halt after school students flashed a red light near the railway tracks to film Instagram Reels in Kannur. The incident involved an express train travelling from Ernakulam to Pune.

According to railway officials, the students were filming near the tracks when the train approached. They allegedly used a red light signal, prompting the loco pilot to stop the train, believing it to be an emergency.

The loco pilot immediately informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the railway police. Following an investigation, two Plus Two students were identified and apprehended by the RPF and railway police.

The students were later arrested and released on bail after the formalities were completed. Railway authorities have warned that such acts pose serious safety risks and can lead to strict legal action.
