Kaliyakkavilai murder case: Mastermind Al Ummah chief nabbed

Bengaluru: The mastermind behind the murder of a police officer in Kaliyakkavilai near Kerala Tamil Nadu border has been nabbed. Banned terror outfit Al Ummah leader Mehboob Pasha was nabbed by Bengaluru police on Friday.

Pasha’s accomplices Jebeebullah, Mansoor and Ajmathullah also have been nabbed. The accused produced at the Bengaluru NIA court were remanded for 10 days and were sent in police custody.

'Q' branch of Tamil Nadu Police had earlier found that Al Ummah was behind the murder of Special SI Wilson.

Meanwhile, the key accused in the case Thoufeeq and Abdul Shameem who were arrested recently have been slapped with UAPA. Probe has been intensified concentrating on their Kerala links.

The accused had earlier given statement that policeman was killed as part of their fight against government-police systems. Following this they were slapped with UAPA charges.
