Kochi: Police on Monday recorded the arrest of Dominic Martin, who confessed to the Kalamassery explosion. The development comes after quizzing that extended to more than 24 hours. It is learned that the person will be produced before the Kerala High Court on Tuesday.

Martin has been booked under Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC as well as provisions of the Explosives Act and the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The multiple blasts happened at the international convention centre in Kalamassery where the followers from the minority Christian group, Jehovah's Witnesses, had gathered for the final day of a three-day-long prayer meeting on Sunday.

A few hours after the incident, a man identified as Dominic Martin posted a video on Facebook later on Sunday, claiming responsibility for the attacks.

He later surrendered at the Kodakara police station in Thrissur. The police, however, said that they were still in the process of verifying Martin's claims.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the twin blasts at the Zamra International Convention and Exhibition Centre rose to three after a 12-year-old girl, identified as Libina from Malayattoor, succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Monday.
