Thrissur: Following the Lok Sabha defeat in Thrissur and mobbing triggered in the DCC office, the party has pointed fingers at DCC President Jose Valloor and UDF District Chairman MP Vincent. The party leadership has instructed both of them to resign and has also informed them of AICC's order.

On the other hand, Palakkad MP V. K. Sreekandan has been temporarily appointed as the DCC president. Meanwhile, there are discussions about the party potentially forming a commission to investigate K. Muraleedharan's defeat.

DCC President Jose Valloor was previously summoned by the Congress leadership to Delhi. He appeared with an explanation, alleging that the attack was instigated under the influence of alcohol and by the leadership of DCC secretary Sajeevan Kuriachira. He claimed that Sajeevan had assaulted the KSU leader and the social media coordinator without provocation and presented CCTV footage to support his claims.

The clash arose on Friday due to a poster put up by Youth Congress activists on the DCC walls, against party President Jose Valloor and T.N. Prathapan. The disagreement started with the claim that the poster was displayed with the knowledge of Sajeevan Kuriachira.

DCC secretary and a few activists were standing on the ground floor of the building when Jose Valloor arrived and the clash occurred. Sajeevan allegedly started attacking those who identified themselves as followers of Muralidharan. This fight footage shared widely caused embarrassment to the Congress leadership despite the party's significant victory in Kerala.
