3-yr-old twins spend 3 hrs near father's body in Ernakulam

Paravur: In a heartbreaking incident, 3-year-old twin children spent nearly three hours near their father's body after he collapsed and died in front of the gate of a resort here where they were staying.
The incident happened early morning on Tuesday in front of Mangrove Heritage Home in Chendamangalam. The deceased has been identified as Jithin (29), son of Kaloor native Palliparambil George.
Mathrubhumi agent Andipillikavu C T Radhakrishnan was the first to see Jithin's twins, Eden and Amberlee sitting near his body and crying. He saw them while he was circulating paper at 6:30 in the morning. Both children were crying out loudly. Radhakrishnan said that when he found the body Jithin was clutching both his hands over his chest.
The door of the resort in which they were staying was wide open. He rang the calling bell and called the neighbours when he didn't get any response. The body was shifted to the hospital after the arrival of the police. Almost three hours had passed since Jithin's death.
Jithin was maried to Christina, a Russian lady. She had gone to Bangalore as part of her job. Jithin and children had gone to Mangrove Heritage Home six days ago. They used to stay at the place often.
CCTV footage showed Jithin coming out through the door of the resort with his kids at around 2.30 midnight. The initial conclusion is that heart attack is the cause of death. The police assume that Jithin who stepped out of the resort due to physical discomfort might have collapsed first and then died.
Jithin’s father George is abroad. Mother Lisymol is a village officer at Edappally North. Jithin, who was running a business in Goa returned to Kerala due to Covid restrictions. He had a house in Kaloor, but was living in a rented house in Kakkanad.
Jithin and children went to the resort as some maintenance works were going on at his house. The police took his body to Kalamassery medical college after finishing the inquest. The post-mortem will be held on Wednesday.
