Kulathupuzha (Kollam): A skull and some bones, suspected to be of a man, were found in the Meenmutty forest area adjacent to the Kallada Dam near Neduvannoor here.

Some people who went to the dam for fishing were the ones to first notice the skull, lying on the other side of the reservoir. The skull became visible as the water level in the dam dropped drastically owing to the scorching temperature. They then informed the Kulathupuzha Police.

Soon, the police officials searched the dam in a boat owned by the Forest Department, following which they recovered parts of a skeleton, remains of a shirt, undergarments and a sacred band that is believed to be of the dead person. The police also suspect that the death was due to hanging as they found a decomposed cloth on a nearby tree.

The cops collected the bones and other evidence with the help of Forensic officers, who stated that the skeleton is a few months old. They added that further details will only be attained after scientific tests were conducted.

Meanwhile, the Kulathupuzha Police started collecting information from nearby residents and local police stations regarding the recent missing cases.
