Story of Rameshan and his baby deer sounds more of fiction

Wayanad: When Chakkara, the deer calf was released into the forest from the Madoor colony after recovering, Rameshan bid goodbye to her with a broken heart. The daily wage worker looked after the deer calf like his daughter for almost two months. He took care of it by feeding milk with a feeding bottle and trained it to graze.
People outside the forest may find the interesting bond between Rameshan and the deer calf as a fiction. But for Madoor colony natives, the spotted dear was apple of their eye.
Two months back, Rameshan found the injured calf on a forest path while returning from work. Without a second thought, he took the two-month-old-calf to his house and named her Chakkara. Though the deer was disturbed in the initial days, it became very close to all in the village. Chakkara lived with Rameshan’s family like his younger daughter.
Usually, spotted deers quickly disappear when they listen to people’s voices. But this deer calf runs to anyone who calls her Chakkara. Chakkara used to have food and sleep with Rameshan’s children. The family used to give cow’s milk to her.
“When I see her happy, I didn’t hesitate to borrow money for buying milk,” said Rameshan.
The other day, Rameshan informed the forest department about the deer calf. Following this, the officials reached his house and took the animal.
“I know the forest is her real home,” said Rameshan when he left Chakkara.
Meanwhile, the forest department granted permission to Rameshan to visit the deer calf inside the forest.
The forest department also appreciated Rameshan for taking care of the injured animal.
