Grand farewell to OC tomorrow, echoes of their thunder will resonate on Sept 8: Achu Oommen

Puthuppally: Achu Oommen said that she is confident of her brother and UDF candidate Chandy Oommen winning the elections with a great majority. Chandy Oommen’s majority will surpass her father’s largest majority win, Achu told reporters on Thursday. She said that the constituency would give the grandest farewell to Oommen Chandy tomorrow and the resonance of this thunder would be heard across Kerala on September 8.

When asked about the cyber attack on her, Achu responded by saying that she did her part by filing a complaint and is cooperating with the police when they took her statement. It is now up to the police to proceed with the case and she doesn’t know whether the delay is due to any technical reasons.

She also said that some laws should be implemented to check cyber bullying and this is the need of the hour. Achu said that she will leave after the election results. She added that the enthusiasm that the activists showed when she arrived at Chandy Oommen’s ‘Kottikalasham’ was actually for Ommen Chandy’s daughter, not for her.

Achu believes that the Congress has an upper hand in this election because of the prevailing anti-government sentiments due to rising prices, corruption charges and farmers issues. Apart from that, Chandy’s education and experience are viewed positively by the people and it is not sympathy that drives this campaign, she said.
