Police suspect goons behind shooting at bar in Kochi

Kochi: The police suspect that the accused behind shooting at a bar in Kathrikadavu in Kaloor are members of quotation gangs and drug mafias.
According to reports, three of the accused including an Angamaly native, have been taken into police custody.
The incident pertaining to the case happened around 12 a.m. on Monday. The miscreants opened fire on the bartenders following an argument over providing booze after closing time.
After leaving the bar, the accused abandoned their car in Mudavoor and switched off their mobile phones. The accused is said to have left in the direction of Muvattupuzha.
The identity of the accused was confirmed by examining the CCTV visuals.
At first, the officials suspected that the accused used an air pistol. However, the police have now come to the conclusion that the attackers were carrying a revolver with them.
The miscreants abused the bar manager, demanding he offer drinks after closing time, and opened fire on the staff when they tried to protect their manager.
The injured staff are Sujin Johnson and Akhilnath. Even the bar manager was beaten up badly. The condition of one of the employees is said to be critical.
