Only Pinarayi Vijayan has no links with the CM’s office: Shafi Parambil MLA

Thiruvananthapuram: No government in Kerala had to face an investigation over anti national activities, said Shafi Parambil MLA. He was addressing the Assembly during the no-confidence motion discussion on Monday.

Despite all the allegations faced by each of the state governments from the first one led by EMS to the last one headed by Oommen Chandy, the NIA has never had to step inside the secretariat. But the Chief Minister’s office has become the source of the case being investigated by the National Investigation Agency, Shafi Parambil said.

People who criticised a government over a gunman are now distancing themselves from the CM’s principal secretary who helped the gold smuggling case accused. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the only person who has no links with the CM’s office, Shafi Parambil said.

“It was M. Sivasankar who demanded the consultancy to appoint Swapna Suresh. She got the job based on the recommendation. Then Sivasankar helped her secure a flat. The IAS officer then appointed her at Space Park.  She then visited Dubai along with Sivasankar. The former IT secretary then arranges a chartered accountant for Swapna,” Shafi said.

Despite these facts, the left leaders are justifying the government as they cannot say anything more than what the party allows them to, the MLA criticised.
