Former MLA Rajendran dismisses speculations about joining BJP, decides to remain in CPM

Munnar: Former CPM MLA S Rajendran has come up with a clarification amidst rumours of his possible shift to BJP. After a meeting with senior communist leaders in the state, Rajendran reassured his followers that he would continue to be part of the CPM going into the LS polls.
The Former MLA held discussions with CPM state secretariat member K K Jayachandran, Idukki district secretary CV Varghese, and MLA M M Mani on Saturday at an undisclosed location. The negotiators apparently emerged successful in convincing Rajendran to remain with their party.
Earlier, Rajendran had refused to renew his membership when local leaders of the CPM arrived at his house with the membership form. Back then, he had raised apprehensions about continuing with the left party, forcing the senior party leaders to intervene in the matter.
Rajendran was suspended from CPM for allegedly campaigning against his own party candidate A Raja who contested from Devikulam constituency during the last Kerala assembly elections. The miffed leader had back then stated that he hadn't done anything wrong and that he didn’t deserve the brickbats. However, now he seems to have mended his ways with the party yet again.
