Former Kandala Bank president Bhasurangan faces health issues during questioning

Thiruvananthapuram: The former president of Kandala Service Cooperative Bank, N Bhasurangan, faced health issues during an interrogation held by the Enforcement Directorate. Following this, he was transported to Kandala Cooperative Hospital. Based on the doctor's recommendation, he was later moved to KIMS Hospital for medical attention. Information regarding his health condition remain undisclosed.

Dramatic events unfolded at the Maranalloor house on Wednesday night as Bhasurangan underwent over 20 hours of questioning. He had been taken to various locations throughout the day for the interrogation. The current residence of Bhasurangan in Poojapura, Kandala Service Cooperative Bank, the former secretaries' homes, and the residences of collection agents all underwent scrutiny by the ED. By 9 pm, he was at the Maranalloor house, where, during questioning, Bhasurangan experienced uneasiness, and was shifted to a nearby hospital.

The Enforcement Directorate received a complaint alleging extensive irregularities committed by the ex-president of Kandala Bank, along with other office bearers, resulting in unauthorized accumulation of wealth and income. Acting on this complaint, the ED has requested a report from the registrar of the cooperative societies. The registrar provided the report to the ED, and the ongoing inspection is a follow-up to the complaint.
