Permission granted for fireworks during Thrissur Pooram

Thrissur: The fireworks in connection with Thrissur Pooram has been given permission from the authorities. The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation granted the permission.

Sample fireworks and the grand fireworks related to the festival can be conducted following the safety protocols. Firework is the major attraction of the festival.

Considering the Covid situation, there were confusions regarding the conduct of the festival. Later, it was decided to conduct Thrissur Pooram without dropping any customs and abiding by the COVID protocol.

No one will be allowed to attend Pooram without producing a COVID negative certificate. People aged above 45 years must produce COVID vaccination certificate. Also, children below 10 years of age will not be allowed to attend the Pooram.

The district authority also imposed restrictions on entry to Thekkinkkadu Maidan. Police will intensify inspection on Pooram day. The authority imposed new restrictions in view of the surge in COVID cases.
