Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has responded to the final forensic report regarding the fire at the secretariat building. He alleged that the report proves the incident was the result of a well thought out plan.

Forensic department’s final report stated that there is no evidence to suggest that the fire was caused by a fan in the room. Mathrubhumi News released the copy of this report. Ramesh Chennithala’s response came after this.

Chennithala said that the Secretariat fire was an act intended to destroy the evidence in the gold smuggling case. This proves that the government was involved in the attempts to destroy evidence of gold smuggling case.

Chennithala asked what the government had to say now. Every allegation raised by the Opposition has been proved right. Forensic officers were reprimanded and intimidated when the forensic report came out, he added.

He also said that he wants to appreciate the officers of the forensic department who overlooked all threats in order to prove the truth.

The government has to reveal why they conspired and how many files were destroyed in the fire. This has to be looked as a conspiracy that was hatched with the full knowledge of the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary, he further alleged.
