Export revenue of govt IT parks in Kerala crosses Rs 20k cr

Kochi: The export revenue of the IT companies in Kerala have increased considerably. The export revenue of the government controlled IT parks alone have touched Rs 20,000 crores. These are the stats coming in from Thiruvananthapuram Technopark, Kochi Infopark, and Kozhikode Cyberpark. Apart from these, there are several private IT parks in Kerala as well. This includes Kozhikode UL cyberpark, Muthoot Technopolis in Kochi, Geo Infopark, and Smart City.

Decrease in layoffs

Meanwhile, the layoffs in the IT sector have been decreasing. Earlier, the layoff rates had crossed 20 percent at the national level. The rates are expected to come down in the current financial year. After evaluating the trends in the first half of the financial year, IT experts are expecting the layoff rates to go below 16 percent in the current financial year. Women were increasingly giving upon their jobs, due to marriages and other domestic responsibilities. However, work from home options have prevented women from giving up on their jobs to a certain extent.
