What Pinarayi Vijayan and I said are the same; papers contain cost estimates for future business: Riyas

Kozhikode: P.A. Mohamed Riyas has said there is no contradiction between his statement and that of LoP Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the documents allegedly seized from Veena in connection with the Exalogic-CMRL deal. He said attempts were being made to create a contradiction between their statements.

CM V.D. Satheesan had alleged earlier that Pinarayi Vijayan and Mohamed Riyas were making contradictory statements. He said that while one had questioned which diary was being referred to, the other had said that it contained details related to future business.

Rejecting the claim that a diary had been seized, Riyas clarified that the documents were paper notes.

“Pinarayi said it was wrong to say that a diary had been seized and that it contained some accounts. I said exactly the same thing. They are scraps of paper. They are different papers on different subjects,” Riyas said.

He added that it had been made clear that the papers did not indicate any transfer of money to anyone and were not related to black money.

“There is no confusion in what I said. The notes were written in connection with a business that was intended to be started,” Riyas said.

He added that the papers contained estimates of the expenses that would be incurred if the proposed system were to be launched.
