Escaped Hanuman monkey spotted on tree at TVM Zoo, efforts underway to capture animal

Thiruvananthapuram: Following an extensive search operation, officials have successfully located the escaped Hanuman monkey (Gray langur) from the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo on Tuesday. 

The monkey was found on Wednesday perched on a tree near the Indian bison enclosure. Authorities are currently making efforts to safely bring the monkey down from the tree.

The monkey escaped by jumping over a nearby wall. Initial findings suggest a lapse on the part of zoo keepers during the opening of the cage on Tuesday evening.
