Kasaragod: Three children who went to take a bath in Kasaragod's Erinjippuzha on Saturday afternoon tragically drowned to death. The victims were identified as Riyas (17), son of Siddique, Yasin (13), son of Ashraf, and Samad (13), son of Ashraf's brother Majeed.

The children were caught in the river's vortex and were later found by local authorities, along with fire and rescue teams. Their bodies have been sent to Cherkala Hospital for further examination.

The three children, all cousins, had come to their family home near Erinjippuzha to celebrate the holidays.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Kannur, two people drowned in Charalpuzha at Iritty. The deceased were identified as Vincent (42), a native of Kotali, and his neighbour's son, Albin (9). The two had come to meet Vincent's mother when they decided to go sightsee the river.

According to sources, Albin fell into the river first and Vincent drowned while attempting to save the kid. Both were rushed to the hospital but were declared dead.
