DYFI warns youngsters to abstain from supporting smugglers, quotation gangs

Kannur: DYFI, the pro-Left youth outfit, has directed its activists to stop liking and greeting the smugglers through social media. DYFI Kannur district secretary M Shajar stated in a Facebook post that the fans clubs should be dismissed.

Meanwhile, the controversies related to the quotation gangs are likely to be discussed in the CPM Kannur district committee meeting on Saturday. The agenda of the meeting is marked as election analysis. The reason for the drop in vote share in Taliparamba, defeat in Peravoor and the influence among minority groups are the major agenda of the meet.

The party has been discussing the quotation related issues and suggested solutions. Also they had disowned the quotation gangs and those related to them. District secretary M V Jayarajan reiterated it and warned action against those who are involved in such activities.

Amid this, Shajar put up the Facebook post against the quotation teams. A large number of youngsters are part of the fans clubs that admire and encourage the quotation gangs. The DYFI has warned against these activities.

Several people had attended the wedding party of Arjun Aayanki who was involved in the Ramanattukara incident. Also there was huge participation in the birthday party of Akash Thillankery, another quotation gang leader.

Earlier, the DYFI had conducted rallies under five block committees Kannur, Mattannur, Thalassery, Koothuparamba and Panoor revealing the name of a quotation gang member. Following this, the Facebook post was put up asking the youngsters to stop supporting the quotation gangs through social media.
