Puthuppally: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan said on Saturday that the UDF's confidence in an easy victory in the Puthuppally bypoll has now ended. He said that the LDF has a real chance to bring an end to the Congress' 53-year reign in the constituency.

“Congress focused on emotional appeal while LDF campaigned for development. It worked in our favour. People will vote for us to ensure our success,” he told mediapersons here.

He dismissed survey results as agenda-driven exercises. He also slammed the Congress for not criticising the BJP during the election campaign.
