Dairy farmers in Malabar region get Rs 7.4 crore fodder aid from Milma

Kunnamangalam: Malabar Milma has sanctioned a fodder subsidy of Rs 7.4 crore for dairy farmers. The subsidy will continue in July for dairy farmers' groups across six districts in the Malabar region.

The Malabar Regional Union of Milma will provide a subsidy of Rs 100 per 50 kg bag of Milma Gomathi Gold fodder distributed through dairy groups. The Kerala Cooperative Dairy Marketing Federation has also decided to extend the Rs 100 discount given in June on Milma Gomathi Gold fodder into July. Accordingly, dairy farmers purchasing a 50 kg bag of Milma Gomathi Gold fodder in July will receive a subsidy of Rs 200 per bag.

In April and May 2025, Rs 4.10 crore was allocated as fodder subsidy to dairy farmers in the Malabar region. Including the amount disbursed in June and the subsidy announced for July, a total of Rs 7.4 crore will have been provided to dairy farmers in this financial year so far, according to Milma Chairman K. S. Mani and Managing Director K. C. James.
