CPM asks Rajendran to stop issuing statements against party

Munnar: The CPM has asked its former MLA S Rajendran to stop issuing statements against the party. Earlier, an investigation commission appointed by the party district committee had found out that Rajendran had worked against LDF candidate A Raja in the previous assembly elections. The former MLA was suspended from the party for an year after the incident came to light.
Members of the CPM had approached Rajendran to renew his membership after the suspension period had ended. But the veteran leader refused the offer. As per the request of the party leadership, he had participated in a CPM convention during the Lok Sabha polls, but did not feature in the campaign programs ahead.
Later on, news came out suggesting that Rajendran held a meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar. Of late, Rajendran has been constantly raising allegations against party’s district secretariat member K V Sasi.
“Rajendran's claim that the party is targeting his supporters is baseless. He is simply twisting the facts,” said area secretary K K Vijayan.
