CPM levels serious allegations against Shafi Parambil, labels him ‘headmaster’ of Rahul Mamkootathil

Palakkad: The CPM has made serious allegations against MP Shafi Parambil, calling him the “headmaster” of Rahul Mamkootathil, who is presently under scrutiny over multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. CPM Palakkad district secretary E N Suresh Babu alleged that Shafi is shielding Rahul and asked whether he would be willing to acknowledge Rahul’s actions as unacceptable and demand his resignation.

Suresh Babu alleged that whenever someone behaves well, the 'headmaster' asks, “Can we go on a trip to Bengaluru?”. That is why he is defending Rahul, Suresh Babu added.

When Rahul visited Palakkad, Congress leaders arranged for his protection. The reception he received was unusually enthusiastic. “On one hand, they say Rahul is expelled from Congress and on the other, they ensure his security and extend warmth,” said Suresh Babu, saying it reflects Congress’s contradictory stance. He warned that CPM’s protest would continue strongly, led by women in the constituency.

“How can someone accused of brutal sexual harassment confront the voters, especially women?” Suresh Babu asked, challenging Congress to explain. He demanded that Shafi confirm whether he agrees that Rahul should be removed completely from the party.

Suresh Babu also hinted at more revelations. “Other reasons for saying Rahul was expelled by VD Satheesan exist. That will come out. I’ve heard that he had crossed the limits. It will be revealed in time,” he added.
