No prior permission needed to write autobiography, but I’ll get approval before publishing it: EP

Palakkad: The controversy surrounding the autobiography is part of a conspiracy, as it occurred on election day, said CPM Central Committee member EP Jayarajan. Speaking to reporters in Palakkad on Thursday about the issues related to his autobiography, which put both the party and himself in the spotlight on polling day, EP said that no prior permission is required from the party to write an autobiography. “However, I will seek the party's approval before publishing it,” he clarified.

“I am still working on my autobiography. It is not yet complete. I have not given the rights to publish the book to any publisher. Both DC Books and Mathrubhumi approached me, but I have not entered into any contract with them. I have not assigned the task of writing the autobiography to anyone else. I am writing it myself. However, I have entrusted a journalist with editing the manuscript and refining the language. I only saw the cover page of the book yesterday. The real autobiography will be released soon, and that will clear up all the doubts surrounding it,” EP said.

“I have instructed the person responsible for editing and refining the text to check the matter thoroughly. I have asked him to verify whether any portions were leaked while he was preparing the text,” Jayarajan added.

“A complaint has been lodged with the DGP regarding this. Whatever appeared in the media about the autobiography was not written by me. If The Times of India carried this story as a front-page article, it cannot be taken lightly. The timing is also important, as the controversy erupted on election day. In Palakkad and Chelakkara, the LDF has been making considerable progress, and someone appears to be trying to change the tide through a conspiracy. This has been deliberately done to tilt the political situation in favor of the opposition. A similar thing happened during the Lok Sabha elections. It was during the last Lok Sabha election that news about a meeting with Prakash Javadekar came up. These are all part of a larger conspiracy,” EP said.

“I have not entered into any contract with DC Books. I haven’t even made the necessary corrections to what I have written so far. I first learned about the news regarding the book through the media. Although I reached out to DC Books to ask how this happened, they could not provide a satisfactory answer,” Jayarajan concluded.
