Annie Raja, Pannyan in CPI's tentative candidates list for LS polls

Kozhikode: The Communist Party of India (CPI) in Kerala has tentatively shortlisted candidates to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

However, CPI will release an official statement about it later this month. The state executive meeting held earlier today in Thiruvananthapuram prepared the list of candidates. Earlier, LDF agreed to set aside four seats for CPI to contest in Lok Sabha elections. 

CPI has named former agriculture minister V.S. Sunil Kumar as its candidate in Thrissur. Meanwhile, the party opted to field veteran leader Annie Raja in Wayanad. 

Former Rajya Sabha MP Pannyan Raveendran will contest in Thiruvananthapuram and C.A. Arunkumar in Mavelikkara. 

Minister G.R. Anil was the initial choice for the Thiruvananthapuram seat. However, the party's District Committee preferred to back Pannyan.
