Racial remark controversy: Court dismisses plea of Satyabhama

Nedumangad: The Nedumangad SC/ST Special Court has dismissed the plea of Kalamandalam Satyabhama not to arrest her until May 5. The hearing in this case has been scheduled for April 30.
The order came days after the court rejected her anticipatory bail in the same case, where she made a derogatory remark against male dancer RLV Ramakrishnan in a YouTube video.
Though the SC/ST Special Court had planned to hear this case on Thursday, delays in submitting the case copies were the major reason to postpone the date. In addition, the police team was requested to provide the controversial YouTube video on a CD, which never reached the court.
Earlier, Sumesh, the second accused in the case, was given anticipatory bail. He was the owner of the YouTube channel which aired Satyabhama's interview.
Following Satyabhama's racist remark and her persistent attempts to defend it, RLV Ramakrishnan, who had been subjected to this derogatory remark, lodged a complaint. His case was transferred to Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Station by the Chalakudy DySP. This case is now being heard in the Nedumangad court. Justice C. S. Sudha is hearing the case.
