Health minister gets first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, CM may take tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has recorded a good response for the second phase of COVID vaccination drive on the second day too. Ministers KK Shailaja, E Chandrasekharan and Kadannappally Ramachandran received the first dose of the COVID vaccine on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will receive the vaccine on Wednesday.

Health Minister KK Shailaja and revenue minister E Chandrasekharan received the vaccine at the vaccine centre in Thiruvananthapuram medical college.

The Health Minister was accompanied by her husband K Bhaskaran. Minister Kadannappally Ramachandran reached Kannur district hospital to take the vaccine.

Earlier, it was reported that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will receive the vaccine on Tuesday.

Hence, an order was issued to the medical college authority to make necessary arrangements for administering the vaccine to the CM. The police force was also deployed at the medical college for his security.

But the Chief Minister informed that he will receive the vaccine on Wednesday.
