Kozhikode: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified  investigation into the CMRL-Exalogic financial transaction case, with simultaneous searches underway at four locations.

The searches mark a major move by the agency after a brief lull in the investigation. The latest action is reportedly part of the second phase of the probe.

Searches at residences of two people

The ED is conducting searches at the residences of Nandulal, a native of Kunduparamba in Kozhikode and a destination manager with DTPC, and Nikhil, a DYFI leader.

Both are reportedly friends of former Kerala minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas.

According to reports, the investigation has now expanded to people linked to Riyas based on key information obtained during earlier ED searches at the residence of former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and at Riyas’ residence in Kozhikode.

Veena Vijayan questioned twice

Veena Vijayan, daughter of former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has been questioned twice in connection with the case.

The ED has also questioned several other individuals linked to CMRL as part of the investigation.

The latest searches are primarily focused on Kozhikode, with the ED continuing its operations at the locations. Further details about the searches and the agency’s findings are expected to emerge in the coming hours.
