Civil defence mock drill today in all 14 districts of Kerala at 4 pm

Thiruvananthapuram: The civil defence mock drill, being conducted in accordance with directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, will take place across all 14 districts of Kerala today. The Ministry has instructed all States and Union Territories to carry out these drills to test and strengthen the nation's preparedness against modern and complex threats. With the Indian Army launching strikes on Pakistani terrorist camps on Wednesday, the exercise has garnered significant public attention.
- The mock drill is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM today.
- An alert siren will sound three times, each lasting 30 seconds, starting at 4:00 PM.
- Regardless of whether the siren is heard, the mock drill must be conducted between 4:02 PM and 4:29 PM.
- As per central guidelines, in areas where sirens are unavailable, public announcement systems in places of worship may be used to alert the public.
- At 4:28 PM, an "All Clear" siren will sound for 30 seconds.
- The sirens will be operated directly by the State Disaster Management Authority.
- Ensure that no actions undertaken during the mock drill pose any threat to life.
- The deployment of Civil Defence and Aapda Mitra volunteers should be coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Department.
