Thrissur: In an unusual incident, a Crime branch SI has come forward with allegations that a CI tried to frame him in a false case. Thrissur crime branch SI R Amod lodged a complaint against Nedupuzha CI T.G Dileep stating that he was arrested for consumng liquor in a public place. The SI’s family has approached the Chief Minister with a complaint regarding this incident.

On July 30, SI Amod who lives within the Nedupuzha circle was taken into custody for consuming alcohol in a public place. A police team led by the CI reached a roadside wood dealers shop upon receiving a tip off that some people were publicly consuming liquor here. During the subsequent search, alcohol bottles were also retrieved.

Following this, the men including SI Amod were arrested from the roadside. A breath analyser test on Amod revealed the presence of a small amount of alcohol. However, when taken to the hospital for medical examination, no alcohol toxicity was found in Amod’s blood. The family thus came forward with a complaint stating that SI Amod was detained for a day and framed in a false case.

In the preliminary investigation carried out by the Special branch, the case was revealed to be a fabricated one. The probe against the CI is underway.
