Kerala girl Sreenanda’s death in Chikkamagaluru: Preliminary post-mortem rules out foul play

Chikkamagaluru: The preliminary post-mortem report in the death of Sreenanda, who died during a tourist visit to Chikkamagaluru, has ruled out any unnatural circumstances.

According to the report, the cause of death was a severe injury to the right side of the head sustained after falling from a height. The impact resulted in multiple injuries across the body, including several fractures. The report also suggests that she likely struck rocks, trees and plants during the fall, leading to extensive wounds.

The findings confirm that the incident was a typical accidental death.

The body was discovered a day earlier at a depth of nearly 1,500 feet below Manikyadhara Falls, with one leg caught in a tree. The body was located during a drone-assisted search, as the steep and rugged terrain made initial recovery efforts difficult.

Although the family had earlier raised suspicions regarding the death, they have now expressed full satisfaction with the ongoing investigation and the scientific findings of the post-mortem report.

Sreenanda’s body will be taken to her residence in Kadambazhippuram, after which the funeral will be held at 12 noon at the Thiruvilwamala Pampady, Ivormadom crematorium.
