Downslides in public education: CM reminds pro-CPM teachers' oufit not to pass buck to evaluators

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reminded the pro-CPM Kerala School Teachers’ Association (KSTA) not to shift the blame for any declines in the public education system onto exam evaluators.

The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of recognising that if public education has faltered in any way, it is not the evaluators' fault. He highlighted the significant role teachers play in student development, regardless of government efforts to improve conditions. 

Any shortcomings, he stressed, should not be solely attributed to the evaluators, but rather addressed through the proper implementation of changes in the education system.

The KSTA had criticised the introduction of minimum marks, expressing concerns that it could disadvantage backward classes. Vijayan's remarks come at this juncture.
